My name is Susan. I am a mother of three grown children, a grammie, and a caregiver to my father who recently has had go to into a nursing facility. I was a caregiver for 12 years, but always took care of my dad since he had his AVM when he was 50, just wasn’t full time until it was at a point he had to move in with us. Now that he is in a long term nursing facility, I am adjusting to changes along with him and working on finding me.
I have two kitties, Twinkle and Raskal My sweet kitty Whisper, whom I miss ever so much, crossed over Rainbow Bridge on 11/26/2008.
I love to listen to country music! I am really a country girl at heart, but my love for music doesn’t stop there. I enjoy listening to music from the oldies days and still have my favorite The Carpenters (upgraded to a CD now) from the 70′s. I loved the older pop rock from the 80′s and 90′s. Yes I even love Madonna!
I went to my first concert ever June 19, 2009, to see Toby Keith (growl) and Trace Adkins (yummy). My sweet friend Lara gifted tickets to hubby and I and we had such a wonderful and awesome experience, one I will always treasure and remember! It was just something I can’t even put into words.
I enjoy reading, love to bake and spoil my family with my cooking! However I will admit I do like it when I get to go out to dinner (a sit down and order kind of dinner), and have someone wait on me and serve me a meal for a change!
I love to play the Wii when I not only have the time, but the energy!
I am a very creative person. Since I don’t have the ability to scrapbook traditionally, as we don’t really have the space here in the house for me to do that, I scrapbook digitally and I absolutely love it! I enjoy taking photos and creating memories! I think its a good thing I scrapbook digitally because if I had this many kits laying around that I have on my scrap drive, I think my husband would shoot me LOL!
I love signature tags! As you can see here on my blog over the years I have built up quite a collection. I even have some signature tags I have made myself. I remember being in MSN Groups and that is where so many seem to start out and branch from, but now those groups are gone.
I have a small collection of Longaberger Baskets and a collection of cookbooks that I love to just and just browse through. I have an original copy of the very first Bisquick cookbook that was gifted to me, its the oldest one I have. Its so neat to see how recipes have changed through the years!
Some day its my dream to move out into the country, where I wake up and take my cup of tea or coffee and sit out on my front porch on my swing just enjoying the beautiful view. I would love to grow my own garden and can my own fruits and veggies and go back to making my own spaghetti sauce. I love to be in a moment where time isn’t so rushed.
