New Again!

I love country music!  Sarah Evans has such a beautiful voice and Brad Paisley is just as awesome.  I was in iTunes a few weeks ago browsing on my iPod one night when I could not sleep, and I found this beautiful song called New Again…    the first time I listen to it I cried lots of tears.

Its taken me a bit of time to find a video of the song to post so I could somehow share the song.  I listen to it every night when I go to bed.  This was the only video I could find on You Tube that I could watch the whole video of.  The others have clips of the movie (not just screen shots like this one) and I can’t even watch it for a minute I just tear up.

Please take a few minutes and listen to it.  My heart just loves this song!

God is for you (and me)

As I have been struggling for a bit of time with issues with my daughter and wondering how can things be the way they are,  sitting back and hurting deep within my heart from her actions, her words, her lack of having time for me, things only being on HER TERMS.  (Missing my grand baby as much as I do)….  How my mom doesn’t seem to want to see me, always an excuse to why I can’t come or she can’t home here… the weight of dad and his actions and guilt my way…. I woke up to this in my email today, a devotion by Max Lucado:

“I have written your name on my hand! Isaiah 49:16”

Romans 8:31 asks, “If God is for us, who can be against us?”

Indulge me a moment.  Four words in this verse deserve your attention.  God is for us.

Say it out loud.  God is for us.

Repeat it, emphasizing each word.  Come on, you’re not in that big of a hurry.

God is for us!  GOD IS FOR YOU.

Your parents may have forgotten you, your teachers may have neglected you, your siblings may be ashamed of you; but within reach of your prayers is the maker of the oceans.  God!

God is for you!  If he had a calendar, your birthday would be circled.  If there’s a tree in heaven, he’s carved your name in the bark.

Isaiah 49:16 says, “I have written your name on my hand!”  No one can defeat you.  You are protected.  God is for you!

God is for us!  God is for you, and he is for me.   Tears in my eyes!

No Matter What

No matter what….   (Sharing an email devotion by Max Lucado)

“Nothing above us, nothing below us, not anything else in the whole world will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus.”  Romans 8:39

No matter what you do, no matter how far you fall, no matter how ugly you become, God has a relentless, undying, unfathomable, unquenchable love from which you cannot be separated. Ever!

Give Every Day a Chance!

This is a great one to share!  I wish I could print all these out and save them but sharing them here is just as good!  This is an email devotional I received from Max Lucado:

But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. Matthew 6:20

A friend shared with me the fate of a hoarding grandmother.  She refused to part with anything.

She couldn’t rest because junk covered her bed.  She lost treasures because they were obscured by mountains of trash. Jewelry, photographs, favorite books—all were hidden.

No rest.  No treasures.

Squirrel away your hurts and expect the same.  Or clean your house and give the day a fresh chance!

“But, Max” you say, “the hurt is so deep.”

I know, they took so much.

But why let them keep taking from you?  Haven’t they stolen enough?

“But Max, I’ve been so angry for so long.”

Forgiveness won’t come overnight.  But you can take the baby steps in the direction of grace.  Forgive in phases.

Quit cussing the perpetrator’s name.  Start praying for him; understand her.

Give the grace you’ve been given!  Make it a day changer!
